Two injured in disturbance on Fort Myers Beach
Two people were injured in a disturbance outside a Fort Myers Beach resort Monday evening that included shots being fired.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Lani Kai, at 1400 Estero Boulevard, shortly before 6:40 p.m.
The injuries were non-life threatening, a release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office states, adding there is no continuing danger to the general public.
“The investigation shows the shooting was NOT a random act, but rather an isolated incident contained to a small group of individuals that are acquainted with one another,” the release states.
The victims were uncooperative with investigators, officials said.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded and the investigation is ongoing.
