Witnesses sought in weekend shooting in Fort Myers
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for anyone who may have been in the area of a shooting at a south Lee County restaurant Saturday night to come forward with any suspicious information they may have seen.
Around 10:30 p.m., Saturday, May 6, four people were shot at when they left the Osaka restaurant, located at 16078 San Carlos Blvd. One man was shot in the leg, prompting the patrons to immediately retreat back into the business, asking for someone to call 9-1-1. To date, the shooter is still at large, and detectives are looking for anyone who may have been in the area to share any information they may have about the incident.
“This occurred in a high visibility area during a time of night where there is a possibility of several witnesses who may have either seen the shooting or saw something suspicious leading up to, or right after, this act of violence,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator. “We want to remind people that any information they have will remain anonymous we just need people to say something if they saw something.”
Anyone with information on the shooting, including the driver or the car involved, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
