CCPD: Suicide resulted in accidental death of two others

Cape Coral Police believe a woman’s suicide attempt resulted in not only her death but the death of her husband, their 4-year-old son, and the family pet.

Cape Coral Police responded to a home at 2614 N.E. 2 Ave. Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. after relative discovered the bodies of three people and a dog.

The deceased have been identified as Amanda T. Florea, 30; Eric L. Florea, 36; and Aiden L. Florea, 4.

Preliminary information released Sunday was that all three had succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning, police said. Detectives confirmed that finding Monday.

“Based on evidence at the scene, detectives believe that Amanda Florea committed suicide by leaving both family cars running in the closed garage, where she was found, and that Eric and Aiden Florea were likely unintentionally poisoned when the carbon monoxide gas infiltrated the living areas of the home,” a release from the Cape Coral Police Department Monday afternoon states.

The investigation is still ongoing.
