F.I.S.H. appreciative of residents and visitors on Sanibel

By Staff | Apr 20, 2016

To the editor:

Thank you Sanibel and Captiva residents and visitors.

Thank you Sanibel and Captiva businesses and foundations. Thank you Sanibel and Captiva volunteers!

FISH cannot say thank you enough for your generous support to support our mission, programs, services and workshops to benefit our island neighbors, workers and visitors.

Here at FISH OF SANCAP, our vision is to enrich the lives of everyone on Sanibel and Captiva Islands through an array of Food Programs, Island Based Workshops, Social Services and Helping Hands.

FISH served over 2,000 individuals in 2015, and the number of those that reach out to their agency increases on an annual basis. Some are seeking resources, others seek medical equipment and transportation, while other still seek temporary emergency financial assistance.

FISH is for everyone, and prides itself on being able to respond to every call or inquiry to the agency, 365 days per year.

FISH could not continue to provide the many programs services and workshops that they do without the support of the entire community.

The generous donations of cash, food, in-kind services and time go a long way to help FISH bring much needed services to the Sanibel and Captiva islands.

These donations have made a real difference in the lives of our neighbors and visitors. Thanks to the community, FISH has been able to (in 2015): distribute 1,639 backpacks to 65 children; deliver 2,216 meals to 34 households; provide 1,069 reassurance calls to vulnerable island residents; counsel and manage cases for 206 households; make 276 medical and/or essential trips for individuals; provide 62 youth scholarships for summer camp, skills building and/or educational trips and SO MUCH MORE!

Their successes are yours!
