The F.I.S.H. Benefit Concert series will wrapping the season up in grand finale fashion April 19, at George and Wendy’s Seafood Grill from 6-7:30 p.m. as all the performers will be playing their favorites tunes in front of a hopeful sold-out crowd.

Sanibel musician Chris Coile, is one of the featured singers performing the finale, as all proceeds will benefit F.I.S.H. of SanCap.

“We’ve had a great response in all of concerts,” Coile said. “We usually have a full crowd at George and Wendy’s. The crowd gets into it and starts singing their favorite songs along with us, because they are songs they grew up listening to.”

Coile will be joined by local singers Sandy Greco, Cindy Cola and Dee Kelly. All will be choosing their favorite hits to sing, which will range from old-style country to old-time rock n’ roll.

Coile is a regular performer on Sanibel since he has lived on the island for the last seven years. He plays at Jensen’s Marina on Captiva, the American Legion Club on Sanibel and many private gatherings and fundraising events.

“I originally played for a fundraiser for scholarships to Edison (College), but I changed to help F.I.S.H. just because they help people of Sanibel,” Coile said. “The concerts have raised over $2,000 for F.I.S.H. and to build on that, it also creates more awareness of what F.I.S.H. does for the community.”

Coile’s song list is vast and contains much variety. He sings everything from old-time country to rock n’ roll. He has put out three CDs entitled “Looking Back,” “A Special Elvis Tribute” and “Country Classics.”

All of his performance fees and CD sales are donated 100-percent to charity.

This is the third year the F.I.S.H. Benefit Concert series has been held and there are no plans to halt it, either.

His list of songs which he may play April 19, includes hits from such bands as The Eagles, Credence Clearwater, Bobbie Darin, The Beatles, Elvis, Carol King, Martina McBride, Simon and Garfunkel, Buddy Holly, Lloyd Price, Franky Lyman, Conway Twitty, James Taylor, Eric Clayton Shania Twain, Bette Middler, Jimmy Buffett and many more.

“I’ve been playing since I’ve been about 10 to 12 years old and always played the songs of the time,” Coile said. “That’s why I know Elvis and Buddy Holly so well, because I’ve been playing them since they were current hits.”

There will be no cover charge and no minimum age. All donations will be benefiting F.I.S.H. and all CD sales will go to the organization.

F.I.S.H. is the leading Human Services Organization on Sanibel and Captiva.

Some of the services that are provided are a Food Pantry, meals on wheels for seniors, transportation, visitation, medical equipment loaner, kids backpack lunch program.

There are over 40 different programs, services and workshops that F.I.S.H. provides for the benefit of those that live, work or visit here on Sanibel and Captiva.
