Jazz on the Island
To the editor:
How much would you be willing to pay for a concert ticket to see and hear a jazz band of experienced mostly white-haired professional musicians play New Orleans and Chicago jazz, Big Band and World War II music, and even some ’50s and ’60s songs?
Well, if you don’t know it yet, you can attend such a concert for free every Sunday afternoon in the Boler garden at Big Arts.
We are not associated with the Island Jazz band, but it has given us such pleasure over the years that we want to share it with other Sanibelians and with visitors who are not aware of its existence.
And because its existence depends on voluntary contributions, we urge you not only to go, but to generously feed the kitty so all of us can continue to hear this great music week after week.
