By Staff | Feb 7, 2016

Cape Coral residents and businesses impacted by the Jan. 9 tornado can apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Florida Gov. Rick Scott requested the disaster declaration from the SBA.

Loans up to $200,000 will be available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.

A Disaster Loan Outreach Center will be set up Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Cape Coral Public Works Building (815 Nicholas Parkway). Officials will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 13. The center will be closed Sunday and Monday, Feb. 14-15. The Center will wrap up services on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.

The filing deadline for physical property damage claims is April 5.
