Authorities seek help identifying Bubble Room burglars

By Staff | Oct 29, 2015

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying two saw-wielding burglars who broke into the Bubble Room restaurant on Captiva earlier this week, stealing a safe, cash and miscellaneous other items.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, October 26th, surveillance cameras captured images of two men walking towards the rear door on the third floor of the building, located at 15001 Captiva Drive, both of whom appeared to be carrying electric powered saws. They initially gained entry into the building by sawing the main door in half. Once inside, they proceeded to saw two additional office doors in half. The males were then spotted at the manager’s office around 12:20 a.m., with shirts covering their faces and blue rubber gloves on their hands. One of the males noticed the camera in the office, and placed a metal coffee tin in front of the lens to block the view. The suspects were then observed at 12:54 a.m. leaving the restaurant on foot in a westward direction, with the safe in tow.

The men are described as either white or Hispanic, one with a thin build and one with a heavier build.

Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of these men are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at “http://www.swflcrimestoppers.org”>www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.

Note: There are six still photographs of the suspects, and what is believed to be the car they were driving, attached to this release. There is no video available at this time.
