Frank (Bucky) Prosser
Frank Prosser, 92, of Fort Meyers Beach passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his residence.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 66 years, the former Catherine (Muff) Flynn; three children, Jody Ann Guest of Tallahassee, Joel Prosser of Cape Coral, and Joy Mae Prosser of Sun City Center; 4 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Several of his surviving relatives live in Newfoundland, Canada, where his mother, Margaret, was from. One of his cousins from Newfoundland, Eric Dormody, visited Frank annually.
Frank served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Lake George, New York, where he and his wife owned and operated Bucky’s Gulf Station, the Green Haven Motel and the Bavarian House Restaurant until their retirement in early 1980s. During this time, Frank was also a volunteer with the Lake George Fire Department and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
For many years, Frank and his wife resided on Sanibel where he volunteered at St. Isabel’s Catholic Church and the Sanibel Community Center. He and his wife spent the last 15 years in Fort Meyers Beach. Frank enjoyed traveling, both overseas and throughout the United States, as well as making waffle breakfasts and throwing holiday parties for his friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. Donations may be made in Frank’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center at 12468 Brantley Commons Court, Ft. Myers, FL 33907 or on their website at email@example.com
