Why we donate to FISH
To the editor:
Because we believe in their cause, we donate a portion of our income every year to F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva, Inc. Because we trust in their organizational structure, hardworking staff and exceptional volunteers, we continue to stay deeply involved with FISH. It’s easy to get caught up in our own hectic schedules, blind to the needs of others. Having shared our parking lot with the F.I.S.H. walk-in center for the past five years, we have seen firsthand how many lives they touch on a daily basis and we want to do more.
Giving to FISH is a privilege and a responsibility we look forward to. We all wish the world were a certain way-free from hardship, a place where everyone had access to nutritional foods, an environment where children had every possible opportunity to succeed-and it only seems fair that we donate to a cause that represents and shares our values.
When deciding where to give, we let ourselves be guided by what matters most to us. FISH helps our neighbors and our community. FISH works with people we encounter each day, people that work hard but have had a crisis or find themselves working harder and harder to make ends meet. Their vast array of programming provides opportunities for all people in our community including educational workshops, luncheons, meal delivery, equipment loans for medical needs and emergencies, visitations and more. F.I.S.H. really does provide something for everyone.
We have seen and experienced firsthand the great work that FISH does to build our community, and we want to personally help with that development. They are a worthy charity that needs donations to continue the good work they do, and we support their programs and applaud their efforts to better our community as a whole.
We hope you will join us in supporting F.I.S.H.
