Garden Club Gala this Saturday on Pine Island
The Pine Island Garden Club’s 14th Annual Garden Club Gala will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at Garden Club Park, just one block north of Island Center on Stringfellow Road.
Parking and admission are free.
A variety of vendors will be selling plants, trees, herbs, crafts, art, food and more. There will be a white elephant sale, silent auction, raffle and baked goods (including gluten-free).
Master gardeners will be available for answering gardening questions, and there will be five plant demonstrations: “The Secrets of Growing Roses in SW Florida,” “Free and Easy” floral arranging, “Gardening Hang-ups,” “Herbs, Spices and Their Uses” and “Growing Orchids.”
Local authors will be signing and selling their books. Garden Club volunteers will staff a Children’s Table for kids to plant seeds and plants in take- home containers.
Raffle prizes include gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses, Winn-Dixie gift cards, gift baskets, plants, arts and craft, and lots of other great items. Raffle tickets are only $1 for one or six for $5, and can be purchased at Winn-Dixie on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at the gala.
Ticket sales will end at 12:30 p.m. and the raffle prize drawings will immediately follow – you do not have to be present to win.
All funds generated by the gala will be distributed to the Calusa Land Trust, PAWS, Beacon of H.O.P.E., and CROW.
