Stewart Title’s chief economist forecasts 2015
Industry expert Dr. Ted C. Jones will address Florida real estate professionals on recovering from the economic hurricane. Stewart Title’s chief economist, Jones will give local real estate professionals a glimpse into the biggest real estate mega-trends for 2015 during a presentation entitled “A Real Estate and Economic Forecast for 2015.”
The presentation will explain a number of factors that will impact the residential housing and commercial markets in Florida and across the nation during the coming year. Stewart Title is a Fortune 500 firm with an office in Sanibel.
The event is Friday, Feb. 13 at the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of REALTORS office. The event runs from 1-2:30 p.m.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from Colorado State University, Ted Jones earned a PhD in finance with a minor in statistics and a master’s degree in land economics and real estate from Texas A&M University, where he served as chief economist at the university’s Real Estate Center, the nation’s largest publicly funded real estate research group. Before that, he authored and taught the valuation and appraisal section of the Bachelor of Commerce in Valuation and Property Management at Lincoln College, University of Canterbury near Christchurch, New Zealand.
An internationally recognized real estate expert, Jones has completed appraisals and property analysis in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. Jones is a past member of the board of directors of the National, Texas and Houston Association of REALTORS and served as Chairman of the Board of the Houston association in 2004. Ted was a member of the 2007 National Association of REALTORS Research Committee.
