Garden Club auction a big success

An exciting day of fundraising was had by all at the annual Shell Islands Garden Club live and silent auction on Jan.13, held at the Sanibel Community House.

A special thank you to auction extraordinaire, Tommy Williams, who has been a wonderful friend to the Garden Club over the years, and his talented father and son auctioneer assistants, Jack and Jay Nitz. Their team efforts guaranteed a very successful day of fundraising which will provide assistance to various local community organizations.

Auction co-chairs, Maggie Butcher and Jeannine Brinkerhoff, as well as Connie Walters and the many volunteer helpers, did an amazing job coordinating all aspects of the big event, which led to a wonderful time had by club members and the Sanibel community.

The Shell Islands Garden Club is very grateful to all of the generous donations made by club members as well as the following local businesses and community members: Bennett’s Fresh Roast, R.S. Walsh Landscaping, Traders restaurant, Rosie’s Cafe and Grill, Captiva Cruises, Suncatchers Dream, Sue Ritchie at Forever Green, Ace Hardware, Judy Hicks Bromiliads, and Sanibel artist Peter Zell.
