Saturday’s Bike Night to have holiday theme
Given the closeness to the holidays, Santa Claus will make an official visit to the second Bike Night of the season Saturday night in South Cape Coral downtown district. Perhaps even a few spontaneous Clauses will show up as well.
The night will be filled with the usual fare of fun, food and live entertainment with country music on one stage and rock music on the other from 5 to 10 p.m. along Southeast 47th Terrace between Vincennes Boulevard and Coronado Parkway.
The rock headliner is ZZ Best with Riverside providing the opening act.
Slow bike races and other biker games can be enjoyed by those on motorcycles or just taking in the spectacle. Race winners receive a $100 gift card to Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers.
Registration for the slow bike races, a ride balance competition, is 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Last bike across the finish line wins. Men and women compete in separate races tournament style starting at 7:30.
There also will be sexy bull riding at Dixie Roadhouse for men and women. The winner receives $100 in drink coin for Dixie Roadhouse for the after party.
More than 100 vendors will be peddling their various biker paraphernalia, jackets, clothing, products and gear with food and beverage items available. As always, admission is free.
“It’s the holiday version this month,” said Parks & Recreation special events coordinator Todd King. “Santa will be there riding around on his Harley. We didn’t add any new programming for December, but we will in February.”
It is the second of four seasonal Bike Nights organized by Parks & Recreation. Others will be held in February and April.
