Information sought in Cape homicide
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying and tracking down the man who gunned down the manager of the TJ Maxx department store last week.
Albert Griffiths, 54, was outside the Del Prado Boulevard store on Tuesday, Nov. 18, when an unknown male fatally shot the store manager. While numerous shoppers and patrons of adjacent businesses heard the gunshots, no one was able to identify the gunman, and detectives are still searching for the man who pulled the trigger.
“This horrific random act of violence occurred in a busy area, and we’re hoping someone may have seen the shooter in the area either right before the murder, or even in the hours leading up to the assault,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator. “Mr. Griffiths has a family who is struggling to understand why or how this could have happened, and they absolutely deserve to see justice for their loved one.”
Griffiths was unmarried, with no children, however he took care of his elderly mother. He also leaves behind two sisters, as well as extended family.
Anyone with information on the man who killed Griffiths is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
