Hamman appointed Lee Commissioner

By Staff | Oct 31, 2013

Florida Governor Rick Scott Tuesday appointed Cape Coral’s Brian Hamman as a Lee County Commissioner to fill the vacant seat created when Tammy Hall resigned in the wake of charges she redirected campaign funds for personal use.

Hamman, 32, is a manager of market development for CenturyLink. Previously, Hamman was a financial advisor and journalist for Fox 4 and WINK News in Fort Myers.

He is a graduate of Leadership Fort Myers and Leadership Cape Coral. Hamman received his associate’s degree from Edison State College and a bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Hamman’s appointment runs from Oct. 29, 2013, through Nov. 25, 2014.

“Brian will serve the families of Lee County with honesty and integrity,” Scott said in a prepared statement. “As a lifelong resident of Lee County, I am confident that he will make a great Commissioner and will help create jobs and opportunities for the families of the area.”
