The Second Annual Beachview Champagne Sips Tennis Tournament, sponsored by Lily & Co. Jewelers, will benefit F.I.S.H. of Sanibel, Inc.

From Oct. 19-20 the tournament will host players of all ability levels in mixed doubles action and the proceeds will benefit the local human services organization that helps people on the island with services ranging from a food pantry to transportation for medical appointments.

The tournament is $50 per person and players will compete for prize money and gift certificates to Lily & Co. or Beachview Tennis Club. And, of course, the tournament is free for the public.

Dan Schuyler, co-owner of Lily & Co., said he wants the community to know that they can watch the action on both Saturday and Sunday.

“It’s free to attend, and come out and watch some incredible tennis, and join in the fun while supporting and raising money for F.I.S.H.,” said Schuyler.

Toni Halski, Beachview tennis pro and organizer, also stressed that anyone can attend the tournament.

“The non-tennis playing community is invited and encouraged to come watch the tennis and enjoy the party, and participate in the fundraising activities,” said Toni Halski, Beachview tennis pro and organizer. “All monies raised from the party go to F.I.S.H.”

There will be a cocktail reception after the tournament on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m., in which prizes will be raffled for F.I.S.H. and the public is also invited. Raffle tickets are available until the drawing at the court-side cocktail party. For the raffle, Lily & Co. has contributed a 14-karat yellow and diamond tennis racket pendant, valued at $650; a sterling silver sand dollar pendant and ear combination; and other items valued at $1,500.

Besides the raffle, there will also be a silent auction with vacation packages, jewelry, rounds of golf, and dinners at island restaurants, and the club is serving pork tenderloin, chicken wings, champagne, beer and wine, an assortment of salads, and deserts.
