2013 Best of the Islands: The winners are in…

The 2013 Best of the Islands winners were presented with plaques during a Tuesday luncheon at the Sundial Beach Resort and Spa.

Every year, islanders vote for their favorite businesses and organizations through the Best of the Islands award program. Votes are cast on ballots found in The Islander and counted by an independent agency before the winners are announced.

Approximately 3,000 ballots were submitted this year, each containing a minimum of 25 nominations, totaling more than 75,000 checked categories.

Maggi Feiner, executive director of F.I.S.H. of Sanibel, won the 2013 Humanitarian Award. Hundreds of other awards, ranging from Best BBQ to Best Dentist, were given out to island businesses. The full list is below.
