The most expensive home for sale in Southwest Florida is on the shores of Sanibel Island.

Christie’s International Real Estate, a global luxury real estate network, announced it was marketing the $23 million Mandalay estate, presented by Royal Shell Real Estate.

The 10,000 square-foot Mediterranean-influenced estate has 700 feet of beachfront property overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

“This uniquely designed property boasts stunning architecture and views, offered from the private confines of a prized location,” said Rick Moeser, senior vice president and southeast regional manager of Christie’s. “Mandalay is the real estate pinnacle of opulent beachfront luxury and exclusivity.”

Mandalay’s interior features unique custom finishes such as barn wood flooring, wood beamed ceilings, fine stone accents, designer tiling, and three gas fireplaces. The gourmet kitchen features a walk-in refrigerator with an adjoining dining room seating up to 14, and the master bedroom wing includes multiple offices, walk-in closets, and a luxurious bath.

Other listed amenities include a front gate, guest quarters, Tischler windows and doors, a backup generator, state-of-the-art security system, and enough space to accommodate 70 vehicles.

The estate’s grounds are lushly landscaped, with multiple fountains, balconies and an imperial staircase.

According to Christie’s, the exterior is perfect for grand-scale entertainment on the large patio area with a covered terrace and an oversized saltwater pool with a spillover waterfall.
