Two injured, one killed in triple pedestrian crash
A woman was fatally injured and two other pedestrians hospitalized after a vehicle struck all three late Saturday night near the intersection of Fowler and Willard Streets.
Police responding to the 10:58 p.m. crash learned that the three pedestrians had been at a party, Fort Myers police said in a prepared statement issued Sunday.
Albertine Sherrod, 44, of Fort Myers, left the party which was on Royal Palm Avenue and ran towards Fowler Street. Two relatives, Leroy Sherrod-Ivy, 25, of Fort Myers, and Rodney McMillian, 29, of Fort Myers, caught up with Albertine Sherrod on Fowler Street “where she passed out in the roadway,” officials said.
While Sherrod-Ivy and McMillian were trying to pick her up and off the road, all three were hit by a Cadillac Escalade.
Albertine Sherrod suffered fatal injuries.
Sherrod-Ivy and McMillian remained in the hospital Sunday.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the Cadillac Escalade.
