F.I.S.H. of Sanibel, Inc. is pleased to announce that Sanibel Island Golf Club, a scenic golf and tennis club on Sanibel Island, has become one of the Silver Sponsors for the 5th Annual 10K Race 4 FISH. The race is scheduled to take place across Sanibel on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Sanibel Island Golf Club is a semi-private, 18-hole par 70 championship golf course that wraps around the scenic beauty of the Sanibel River. It also offers award winning state of the art Hydro-Grid Tennis Courts.

“We are very excited to welcome Sanibel Island Golf Club as our newest Silver Sponsor this year,” said Ed Ridlehoover, co-chairman of the FISH 10K committee. “We are very grateful to have their support for our biggest fundraising event of the year.”

More than 50 island businesses and organizations sponsored the 10K last year, and over 120 people volunteered their support to make it a huge success. The title sponsor is The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company and the list of Silver Sponsors is growing. F.I.S.H. is seeking more sponsors and support from local businesses and the community.

The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. at The Sanibel Community House, and will once again follow a marked 10K circuit around the island, returning to The Sanibel Community House for the finish line. There will also be a trade fair, aimed at the runners, and their families and friends, as well as refreshment tables and water stations around the island for runners.

F.I.S.H. is a nonprofit organization that lends a helping hand to those in need on Sanibel or Captiva, who live or work here. Money raised during the 10K helps in funding all services including emergency financial assistance to clients, food pantry, children’s backpack food program, non-emergency medical transport on and off the Island, temporary loan of health equipment and daily hot meals program.
