815,978 pass through RSW in April

During April, 815,978 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), an increase of 3.25 percent compared to April 2012.

Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 6.5 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in April was Delta with 173,563 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (124,793), JetBlue (103,865), Southwest (85,875) and United (79,621).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,489 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 6.8 percent compared to April 2012.

Page Field saw 7,992 movements, a 5.8 percent increase from April 2012. In addition, more than 2.5 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in April 2013, an increase of 0.1 percent compared to April 2012.

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 7.3 million passengers in 2012 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.
