Cape Coral Police to host Water Safety Seminar

By Staff | May 2, 2013

The Cape Coral Police Department is partnering with the Cape Coral Fire Department and Cape Coral Parks & Rec to host a water safety seminar.

The seminar is this Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m.-1p.m. at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Pool.

The Police and Fire Departments partnered with Parks & Rec to put on a program to spread the word about water safety. Each year our first responders answer emergency calls involving children who have had swimming pool and other water related emergencies.

“This is our way to give back to the community and hopefully prevent a tragedy one day. When we were planning this event, it was only natural that we elicited the assistance of our brothers and sisters at the Fire Department as well as our outstanding employees right here in the Parks & Rec Department. This should be a great free event for our city’s young people,” said Lt. Tony Sizemore, police spokesperson

The event is scheduled to feature:

* Fire Trucks

* CPR Demo

* Drowning Prevention Video

* Dive Equipment Display

* Police Boat

* Vendor Tables

* Giveaways / Prizes

* Opportunities to sign up for swim classes

No need to RSVP, simply arrive at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Pool at 10 a.m .on Saturday, May 4.
