The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating a robbery at 6:30 a.m. at the Bank of America, at 926 Cape Coral Parkway E., according to officials.
A woman was in the drive-thru ATM attempting to withdraw money when a man, armed with a knife, jumped into her vehicle’s passenger seat. The woman exited the car and the man moved to the driver’s seat and drove away.
The man was last seen traveling south on Leonard Street from Cape Coral Parkway.
The woman did not sustain any injuries in the incident, officials reported.
The man is described as Hispanic, in his late teens or early 20s and about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He had a thin “chin-strap” style beard and braided hair.
The vehicle is a 2006 silver Hyundai Sonata with Florida tag L59-0DP.
