Cape man faces charge of lewd lascivious behavior

By Staff | Apr 23, 2013

A Cape Coral man is accused of inappropriately touching a young girl.

Ronald Eugene Kilgore, 63, was arrested and charged Thursday with one count of lewd lascivious behavior molest victim less than 12 years of age offender 18 years of age or older, according to the jail booking records.

As of Tuesday, he was being held at the Lee County Jail without bond.

In November, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a possible sex crime. A man reported that during a conversation, his daughter disclosed that she had been sexually abused by Kilgore over the summer.

In a following interview, the girl told detectives that she was waiting in a vehicle with Kilgore in August when she fell asleep. She woke up about 15 to 20 minutes later and “found him in my pants,” an arrest warrant states.

Kilgore reportedly was inappropriately touching her with his hand.

The girl told detectives that she initially pretended to be asleep, then she shook a little bit to make Kilgore think that she was waking up. She stated that Kilgore removed his hand from her pants once she started to move.

She reported feeling “scared and stuff,” according to the warrant.

Detectives then met with the girl’s mother, who stated that she did not believe Kilgore would inappropriately touch her daughter. She believed that her daughter had made up the story to “get her attention and her way.”

Kilgore provided a sworn statement regarding the allegation.

On Thursday, a judge signed the warrant for his arrest. The LCSO Fugitive Warrants Unit located Kilgore at his home and took him into custody.

He has a court appearance scheduled for May 13.
