The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company has appointed Cheryl Giattini to its board of directors.

An attorney by training, Giattini is a public relations and marketing consultant with three decades’ experience working with business clients and non-profit organizations. She is an honors graduate of Georgetown University and its Law Center and joined the National Public Radio (NPR) General Counsel’s office as an attorney in 1982, working directly with NPR’s board of directors on development and governance issues.

Following her early practice of law, Giattini pursued a career in public relations and marketing. Her corporate clients have been concentrated in the financial services and commercial real estate industries and have included Edison National Bank/Bank Of The Islands, the NHP Foundation, the Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, and CarrAmerica, a publicly traded real estate investment trust subsequently acquired by the Blackstone Group.

Giattini and her husband, Marc, are full-time residents of Sanibel and active members of the community. She is most known for her work with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF). Since 1999, she has led multiple capital campaigns for SCCF, including five that raised approximately $20 million to preserve hundreds of acres of wildlife habitat and to improve regional water quality.

Giattini served on the board of directors of the Community Foundation of Sanibel Captiva.
