Lake Kennedy Senior Center reopens for classes and events
The Lake Kennedy Senior Center has reopened for classes and events. The Center has been closed since Jan. 14 after a water leak caused significant damage throughout the facility. Only the Friendship Dining area and the pool table area remain inaccessible at this time.
The city-owned Lake Kennedy Senior Center is at 400 Santa Barbara Boulevard.
The cost for the water damage restoration and drying out the facility was more than $31,000. Additional clean-up costs will push the total damage to the facility to about $50,000.
