Joseph Francis Giattini, M.D.

Joseph Francis Giattini, M.D., passed away on Sunday, Feb.10. He was 85.

Dr. Giattini was the Chief of Orthopedics and its Orthopedic Residency Program of St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, as well as the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. He was an early practitioner of total hip and knee replacements and developed a highly regarded surgical technique for treating the condition known as tennis elbow. In addition to his private surgical practice, he was a team orthopedic physician for the New York Giants football team, and with equal care, treated dancers from several of New York’s ballet and dance companies.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacquelin Goeller Giattini. Dr. Giattini is survived by his loving son, Marc, his daughter-in-law, Cheryl, and his nieces Lauretta Ross, Marie Reilly, Joan Marder, and Jane Reilly.
