Congress opens Sealife boutique

By Staff | Dec 14, 2012

Congress Jewelers opened its new Sealife boutique at Periwinkle Place.

Congress Jewelers has opened Sealife by Congress, a boutique devoted to the jewelry collection that is the foundation of the family-owned business. The store is located in Periwinkle Place, next to the original Chico’s.

The collection features sand dollars, shells, dolphins, starfish and other marine creatures, as well as the original Sanibel Sandals, in sterling silver and white or yellow 14-karat gold. The entire line is designed and manufactured on Sanibel, where artisans enhance some settings with diamonds, sapphires and precious gemstones. The collection’s pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets are priced from $20 to $2,500.

“My father launched Congress Jewelers in 1982 by selling golden sand dollars molded from those he found on the beach,” said proprietor Scot Congress. “Giving the line its own venue is an exciting concept with appeal for both residents and visitors. The extraordinary workmanship and lasting value make each piece a beautiful reminder of visits to the beach.”

Moving the Sealife collection to the new boutique allows Congress Jewelers to expand its selection of Rolex timepieces and fine designer jewelry in its original location, also in Periwinkle Place.

Congress Jewelers is a member of the American Gem Society, which includes less than 5 percent of jewelers in North America. Its experienced staff offers watch service and repairs, jewelry design, production and repairs, appraisals and estate buying.
