Lee County EMS crews to be honored at Phoenix Awards

By Staff | Dec 11, 2012

Lee County EMS will honor its crew members who have successfully resuscitated 11 clinically dead patients over the past year, enabling those individuals to return to productive lives.

About 22 Lee County EMTs and paramedics will be reunited with 10 of the patients during the presentation of the Phoenix Awards from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Public Safety’s administrative offices. The families of patients and of crew members have also been invited to attend.

“These are truly life-saving accomplishments that occur only a few times in one’s career,” said Scott Tuttle, Lee County Public Safety’s interim deputy director and EMS operations manager, in a prepared statement issued Tuesday.
