By Staff | Nov 30, 2012

Tickets for the John Carrigan Rotary South All-Star Classic banquet on Monday, Dec. 3, at Harborside Event Center are still available online. University of Florida head football coach Will Muschamp is the guest speaker.

The All-Star Classic was founded by Sanibel resident and football enthusiast John Carrigan in 1989 and was the first county-wide organized all-star football game in Florida. Proceeds from the event support college scholarships as well as grants to local community organizations.

The banquet honors Lee County’s top senior football players and cheerleaders. Doors open at 5 p.m. and general admission tickets are $75 per person. A reserved table of eight is $600, and a premium reserved table of eight is $1,000. Purchase tickets online at rotarysouthallstarclassic.org.

The 24th annual football game will be played at Fort Myers High School’s Edison Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

“The All-Star Classic banquet is an ideal forum to motivate and inspire football players and cheerleaders as well as remind Rotarians and parents how football, education and personal choices make an impact in their lives,” said Roger Mercado, Rotary South president-elect and All-Star Classic co-chair. “This is a great opportunity to support the best of Lee County’s football players and cheerleaders while raising money for future scholarships.”

Rotary Club of Fort Myers South has more than 100 members who are among the 1.3 million Rotarians worldwide.
