By Staff | Nov 23, 2012

Owners Blanaid Colley and Jeremy Kane dispense samples at their new Zebra Frozen Yogurt store which opened to the public Wednesday this week.

A funky new business has come to Sanibel. Zebra Frozen Yogurt, a frozen yogurt shop located in Bailey’s Center, opened on Wednesday this week.

“Zebra will bring to Sanibel fresh, healthy, and fun frozen treats in a cool place designed for the whole family to enjoy,” said Blanaid Colley, owner of Zebra.

Zebra features a variety of frozen yogurt flavors and 52 toppings. Choices vary from fresh strawberries, bananas, blueberries, peaches and coconut to more traditional dry toppings like chopped Snickers, Twix and Butterfinger.

The store encourages promoting school spirit and offers sprinkles in your favorite local team’s colors from The Sanibel School, Fort Myers High, Cypress Lake, Bishop Verot, Edison College, FSU, FGCU, and UF.

To celebrate the opening of the new shop, Zebra is giving away taster cones and doing a special “Buy One, Get One Free” offer through Saturday, Nov. 24. The store is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day.

The Zebra store’s fun design is planned to entertain. The shop includes a large chalkboard area for writing messages and drawing your favorite mascot, two HD televisions, indoor and outdoor seating and a newly planted garden the owners hope will draw appearances by their mascot, the zebra longwing butterfly.

The store is located in Bailey’s Center at the corner of Periwinkle Way and Tarpon Bay Road.
