‘Nook’ plans reunion Nov. 2-4
Anyone kicking around the Islands in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, and remembers when Captiva had a personality and an eclectic cast of characters, may have spent time at Timmy’s Nook in the center of that universe.
Timmy’s Nook was located on the bay at the old post office curve where the Green Flash is now. It was owned and operated by T.M. and Beulah Wiles and their five daughters, a true Captiva pioneering family. The atmosphere was legendary and the food historic.
A reunion is planned for Nov. 2-4 at the American Legion Post 123 on Sanibel open to anyone who enjoyed the Nook. Stop by and have a cheeseburger and a CROW sandwich, buy a t-shirt and share a story. Admission is free.
Saturday features live music. For more information call the American Legion 472-9979 or Tim Irving 472-1605.
