The award-winning Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grill has become one of the silver sponsors for the 4th annual 10K Race 4 FISH.

The race is run on Sanibel on Saturday, Oct. 13, and it is the fourth year that Doc Ford’s has chosen to sponsor in the race.

“We extend a huge thank you to Doc Ford’s,” said Bill Fellows, President of FISH (Friends In Service Here). “They have been a great supporter to FISH over the years we appreciate them choosing to become one of our Silver Sponsors.”

The race begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Sanibel Community House, and will follow a marked 10K circuit around the island, returning to the Sanibel Community House for the finish. There also is a trade fair aimed at the runners, their families and friends, as well as refreshment tables and water stations around the island for runners.

The 10K Race 4 FISH is held in conjunction with the Fort Myers Track Club and is expected to attract more than 400 runners this year. More than 40 island businesses and organizations sponsored the 10K in 2011 and more than a 120 people volunteered to execute a great event.

The 10K is the main fundraising event for FISH, which hopes to raise a significant amount of money. Runners can download the FISH 10K entry form at fishofsanibel.com/fish-10k
