Sanibel Chiropractic has new owners

SHANNEN HAYES Dr. Greg Walsh and Dr. Jacyln Walsh recently purchased Sanibel Chiropractic business of Dr. Tolisano and are already serving patients.

The couple, who met at Sherman College in Spartanburg, S.C., always planned to have a practice in Florida, but they never imagined one on an island.

“We really hadn’t heard of Sanibel until we saw the practice for sale,” said Greg. “We fell in love with the area and everything fell into place.”

For the past three years, Greg and Jaclyn helped run the chiropractic business of Jaclyn’s uncle in Paduca, Ky. It was there they learned things not taught in a classroom through her uncle, who they consider an excellent mentor with more than 20 years experience in the chiropractic business.

“Leaving our regular patients in Kentucky was hard,” said Jaclyn, who comes from a family of chiropractors. “But my uncle had the type of practice we want patients who look forward to seeing us even if they are in pain. He taught us the human side of the business, too.”

On July 1, they took over Sanibel Chiropractic from Dr. Tolisano and have been happily serving patients. Since they opened, the knowledgeable doctors have introduced a new, lower price list and added a few features to their services, such as HydroMassage.

The HydroMassage is an unattended water massage system that gives patients the opportunity to get a 10-minute massage every day. It has a unique, open design for comfort and an “all-sides-of-the-body” massage with water-thru-air technology to deliver maximum massage pressure.

“The HydroMassage is already becoming a favorite among our patients,” said Greg, who added that it is also available to non-patients.

Sanibel Chiropractic will focus on delivering specific, gentle treatment through instrument adjusting. This FDA registered device was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function. There is no popping or cracking sound with these adjustments, but rather precise adjustments that are effective for patients of all ages.

“It’s about getting out of pain, helping to prevent problems and keeping your body working and healthy,” said Greg about their wellness model.
