Northwest Cape’s 16th annual Trash Bash scheduled for April 21

By Staff | Apr 10, 2012

Come by boat or by car to the 16th annual Trash Bash in Cape Coral’s northwest neighborhood Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Burnt Store Boat Ramp, located at 230 Burnt Store Road, S., just north of Ceitus Parkway.

Northwest Cape Coral area residents and property owners team up with the City’s Code Enforcement unit, the Cape Coral Police Department and its Marine Enforcement unit to clean up trash from empty properties and canals and forge strong relationships.

Residents may pick up free trash bags and commemorative T-shirts beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Burnt Store Boat Ramp and then go to known problem areas or an area of their choice from north of Pine Island Road and west of El Dorado Boulevard to collect trash. Large dumpsters will be conveniently located at the Burnt Store Boat Ramp and on Yucatan Blvd. at Burnt Store Road to receive collected trash for disposal.

At noon, participants will return to the Boat Ramp to enjoy a community pizza party. The annual event is held in conjunction with the Keep Lee County Beautiful and the national Great American Cleanup Earth Day events. Working together, the northwest Trash Bash has consistently had the largest turnout in the county.

Major sponsors include Domino’s Pizza at 3904 Skyline Blvd., Keep Lee County Beautiful and Abate Pest Control
