FMPD: Four arrested for ‘suspicious activity’

By Staff | Jan 27, 2012

Four people, including a Cape Coral man, were arrested Thursday for allegedly loitering in a parking garage.

The Fort Myers Police Department began an operation in mid-January to address graffiti occurring in the City of Palms parking garage. The goal of the operation was to find and apprehend those responsible for defacing and damaging the garage and surrounding area.

Through an investigation, police reportedly developed possible suspects.

At 10:47 p.m. Thursday, officers observed three men and one woman on the 6th Floor of the garage. The garage closes at 5 p.m. and it is not normal for pedestrians to be in the area when they do not have a vehicle parked in the location, according to officials.

All four had conflicting stories as to why they were there, and officers feared that a crime was about to be or had been committed. Due to the recent criminal activity, police arrested the following four for loitering or prowling:

– Devontay Ruffin, 19, of Fort Myers

– Jessica Wilson, 19, of Lehigh Acres

– Alexander Kulcsar, 20, of Fort Myers

– Barry Tolles, 21, of Cape Coral
