2012 Chamber Rocks Membership Drive begins
The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral kicked off its 2012 Chamber Rocks Membership Drive last night with a special appearance by “The hottest band in the world.” More than 50 participants were in attendance for last night’s performance as the membership drive’s organizers donned KISS make up, costumes and instruments for an energizing performance of Rock and Roll All Night.
“It was exciting to watch the energy transfer from the leadership of the membership drive to the volunteers,” said Mike Quaintance, chamber president.
Heading up the membership drive is the 2012 chamber chairperson, Donna “The Starchild” Meola of Kirkwood Electric, and her membership drive co-chair Cheryl “The Catman” Komnick of Caloosa Tent and Party Rental. The band was rounded out by chamber staff liaison Amanda “The Spaceman” Brunson and Dominic “The Demon” Soricelli of the Hampton Inn and Suites.
“This drive will help us expand out networking opportunities for our current and future members,” said Meola.
The chamber hopes to recruit a minimum of 100 new members during the weeklong drive, starting Jan. 30 and ending Feb. 3 by calling local businesses and educating them about the benefits of becoming a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral. Each of the nine teams will have a day at the “recruitment call center” at the Team Aubuchon Building located at Club Square.
“I want to see the chamber’s membership grow and bring more business networking opportunities to our area,” said team captain Brett Bisbe of B2 Solutions.
Following the performance, Heather Christie of Action Coach provided the teams with some helpful sales tips. Throughout the drive, teams will be awarded Chamber Bucks for each new member they recruit. They can use the Chamber bucks to bid on prizes at a live auction on February 24 at The Resort at Marina Village.
The mission of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral is to promote and serve business and community. The Chamber Welcome Center is located at 2051 Cape Coral Parkway E. For more information please call Mike Quaintance at (239) 549-6900 ext 106 or visit www.capecoralchamber.com
