Sobriety checkpoint results in 6 DUI arrests
A Friday night sobriety checkpoint at 7070 College Parkway in Fort Myers resulted in six DUI arrests.
All vehicles traveling south on U.S. 41 – a total of 584 late Friday night and early Satyrday morning – were checked.
In addition, the following actions are the results of the activity that began at 11 p.m. and ended at 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning:
Two Driving While License Suspended arrests.
Four No Valid Drivers License arrests.
One Possession of a controlled substance arrest and
Twenty-three citations issued.
This weekend’s checkpoint involved members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department and the Florida Department of Transportation.
