More than $12,000 worth of items were reportedly stolen from a garage.

Cape Coral police responded Wednesday morning to a report of a burglary in the 5300 block of Malaluka Court. A man stated that someone stole some of his property from his garage, including several fishing reels and power tools.

The man explained that he normally keeps the exterior door to the garage locked, but it had been unlocked.

The door was not forced, a report states.

The missing items were two fishing rods, seven fishing reels, a chop saw, jig saw, cordless drill and a GPS for a boat. The items are valued at $12,565.
