North Park’s Annual Flea Market Saturday
You can sell or shop at the upcoming North Park’s Annual Flea Market, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“This is the first year that we will be strictly working on both pavilions and the football field,” said Senior Recreation Specialist Christine Susterich. “We will not be using the inside of the center, to see more outside activity, a lot of outside traffic.”
The park hosts many big events throughout the year annually, including the popular Fall Fest. “This may not be our biggest event, but it is the most fun,” said Susterich. “Everyone that comes, sellers and buyers, are fun, friendly, down-to-earth people.”
This will be the tenth year for the event. Many attend year after year to find treasures or useful items.
“We will have another flea market on Saturday, March 3, because of the popularity,” said Susterich. “This year we’re having antique furniture and handmade crafts among other items. It is a whole range of vendors.”
“We do have the same people coming back year after year and we’ve built a relationship with them,” said Senior Parks and Recreation Specialist Libby Olive. “Each year it gets bigger and better. With this economy, it is a way for people to find something they are looking for, or for sellers to find a a way to earn extra cash.”
Spaces are still available. Six foot tables are available for $10 each under the pavilions, with six foot spots available for $5 each on the football field where you must provide your own table.
The Pop Warner Football concession stand will be open for food and drink purchases. The park is located at 2021 N. Tamiami Trail behind the North Fort Myers Library.
