Drew Winchester Cape police continue to investigate an early morning shooting on Viceroy Court.

Three suspects are being detained for questioning in relation to the shooting that took place early Monday morning at 4928 Viceroy Court, according to Cape Coral Police.

The suspects were only being detained and were not under arrest, police said.

The victim’s name had not been released as of Monday afternoon, but officials said he was recovering at Lee Memorial Hospital and would be interviewed by Cape Coral detectives today.

Cape Coral police received the call at 5:35 a.m. Monday and responded to what they said was a shooting. No other information is available at this time.

Mike Tondalo, who lives on Viceroy, said he first heard of the alleged shooting from his parents, who live in Connecticut.

Tondalo said he heard neither gunshots or a helicopter Monday morning when the incident allegedly took place.

“We didn’t hear anything,” he said.

Tondalo said the neighborhood is safe and usually quiet and he doesn’t feel threatened by reports of the shooting.

The crime scene, where Cape Coral forensics personnel was working inside the apartment, could be seen from the rear of where Tondalo lives.

The location of the alleged shooting is a duplex.
