By Staff | Jan 12, 2012

Cape Coral High School and Ida S. Baker High School have earned recognition from the Scholastic Press Association.

Both schools’ yearbooks received first place awards: Ida S. Bakers High for its yearbook “Senza Fine” and Cape Coral High for its yearbook “Seahawk Scenes.” More than 1,700 school yearbooks are evaluated as part of the competition. The yearbooks were judged and showed excellence in the fields of writing, photography and page design.

In addition, Cape Coral High was awarded first place with special merit for its school magazine “Expression” and a first place award for its newspaper “Seahawk’s Eye.”

The SPA reviews each school yearbook and magazine entered and scores them on a point system with those best judged as “the best” being awarded a first, second or third place in its classification. In addition, those school publications with special and outstanding design and content may receive a first place with special merit.
