Fund raiser to aid family of teen struck while crossing Pondella
The Skyline Eagles and its Ladies Auxiliary will hold a fund raiser this month to help a Cape Coral family left grieving in wake of their daughter’s tragic death.
The benefit will help the family of Taylor Alexis Palmer, 15, who was struck by a car while trying to cross Pondella Road following a school sporting event in October.
The benefit, which will feature live music, food, raffles, an auction and more, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Eagles aeries at 903 Pondella Road in North Fort Myers. Money raised will help Taylor’s parents, Dave and Barbara Carter, with hospital and funeral expenses.
“When Taylor was 9 years old her sister was killed; she was hit on an ATV,” said Lynn Morton a family friend and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. “They went through a lot of trauma then. They (the family) were very, very cautious, very overprotective. She was a good kid, she was walking home from a football game.”
A number of businesses have already contributed auction and raffle items but more are both welcome and needed.
For more information about donation pick up or the event, contact the Skyline Aeries at 995-4270.
Primary organizers are Debbie Almas and Carol Baine, member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Monetary donations may be mailed to The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 903 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers, FL, 33903, Att: Skyline Auxiliary, c/c Taylor Palmer Benefit.
