Area government office closings for Christmas holiday

In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, many local goverment offices will be closed.

The city of Cape Coral offices will be closed Mondays, Dec. 26, and Jan. 2. Regular office hours will resume Tuesdays, Dec. 27, and Jan. 3.

The city of Fort Myers will observe the Christmas holiday Monday, Dec. 26, and the New Year’s holiday Monday, Jan. 2. All city government offices, including Solid Waste and Utility Billing, will be closed those days.

Lee County offices will also be closed for the holidays: Fridays, Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, and Mondays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

The United States Postal Service letter carriers will be delivering their routes Saturday, Dec. 24. Post Offices offering retail service on Saturday include: Page Field P.O., 2655 N. Airport Road, Fort Myers, from 9 a.m. to noon; Cape Coral Central P.O., 1030 S.E. 9th Ave., Cape Coral, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Cape Coral South P.O., 4722 S.E. 17th Ave., Cape Coral. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Visit www.usps.com or call 1-800-ASK-USPS to find contracted postal units in your neighborhood offering Saturday service hours. Self Service Shipping & Mail centers located at Page Field P.O. and Cape Coral Central P.O. are available 24 hours a day.

Monday, Dec. 26, will be a holiday with no mail delivery or retail service available.
