Cape Coral police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in a pickup truck near the intersection of Veteran’s Parkway and Del Prado Boulevard early Monday evening.

The off-ramp intersection coming from Fort Myers remained closed at 8 p.m., enclosed by a large perimeter of crime scene tape as police stood near a pickup truck stopped in the inner left-hand turn lane.

Police have released little information other than they suspect the death may be a homicide.

A forensic unit vehicle remained parked alongside the small shopping center fronting Del Prado into the evening. Earlier, as police blocked the major intersection, helicopters had circled the neighborhood.
