The Sanibel Police Department Color Guard, supervised by Sgt. Anthony Thompson, raises the American Flag during the island’s Veterans Day Ceremony at City Hall. Islanders gathered at the flag pole to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. The ceremony’s program included guest speaker Douglas Quelch and a Veterans Day address by Brigadier General John Bathke, AUS (Ret.). The Sanibel Community Band filled the air with renditions of “Star Spangled Banner,” “Yankee Doodle,” “God Bless America,” and “America The Beautiful.”
