CCPD stresses safety/awareness with ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ Campaign
The Cape Coral Police Department is participating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative. Officers are stressing safety and awareness for the upcoming Halloween holiday week.
Cape police officers will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol Thursday night to crackdown on impaired drivers. However the Special Operations Bureau commander is more interested in roadway safety than arrest numbers.
“We want residents to go out and enjoy the city’s restaurants and entertainment venues. We just want people to use options other than driving under the influence to get home. Please take a cab or use a designated driver. Halloween is the start of the holiday season, let’s kick it off safely,” said Capt. Michael Torregrossa.
