Residents invited to celebrate Tony Rotino Center’s 34 years of service
The community is encouraged to join the celebration at the Tony Rotino Center on Nov. 4 for 34 years of service.
Brenda Nixon, recreation specialist at the Tony Rotino Center, said in years past the celebration has been held just for the members. She said this year officials decided to open it to everyone in the community to encourage them to become members of the senior centers.
There are approximately 400 members at the Tony Rotino Center, who can also use the services at the Lake Kennedy Center.
“We do a lot of events for them to keep active,” Nixon said, which includes bridge, pinochle, computer classes, exercise classes, knitting and quilting.
The celebration will be held from 1-3 p.m. with cake, coffee and entertainment by the Calendar Girls, Cape Chorale Barbershop Quartet and Marion Feldhaus Tappers.
