The Sanibel & Captiva Chamber of Commerce recently hosted two training sessions for its members, showing them how to get the best out of their presence on the Chamber’s website.

Steve Ehrhart, Director of Operations for the Chamber of Commerce, provided training for more than 25 chamber members in these two sessions. Hoteliers, retailers, City employees and activity-based businesses were represented at the training sessions.

The Chamber plans to host more of these training sessions in upcoming months.

The Chamber’s website (www.sanibel-captiva.org), one of the most popular websites in the chambers of commerce business, gets more than a million and a half unique visits to its site each year. The training concentrated on showing members how to ensure their businesses are listed in the correct categories, learning how to put together “Hot Deals” that visitors can print off and use while on the islands and a range of additional value added tools for members.

In addition to these website marketing tools, Ehrhart presented the brand new Chamber mobile site, designed for smart phone and tablet devices, and he showed members how to customize their listings to make them work for the mobile traveler.

With over 600 active members from both islands including businesses from Lee and Collier counties, the Sanibel & Captiva Chamber of Commerce plays a key role in facilitating communication and cooperation between business, residents and government to enhance the economic health of the islands.
